Syntax

closedir DIRHANDLE


Definition and Usage

Closes the directory handle DIRHANDLE.

Return Value

  • 0 on failure
  • 1 on success

Example

ut following example:

#!/usr/bin/perl -w

$dirname = "/tmp";

opendir ( DIR, $dirname ) || die "Error in opening dir $dirnamen";
while( ($filename = readdir(DIR))){
print("$filenamen");
}
closedir(DIR);
It will produce following results:
.
..
testdir
